Good Ol' Alabama Rain

One of the things I like best about Alabama are the rain/thunder storms. We didn't get any thunder on this day, but the rain was awesome. Emma really enjoyed playing on Grammie's front sidewalk with her "sunbrella" as she calls it.

BOO at the ZOO

We are just having lots of fun in Alabama! Last Friday, we went to Boo at the Zoo in Birmingham with Kennamer and Trace. We trick or treated, rode the train, rode the Carousel (BACKWARDS, I might add), went on a hayride, petted the animals, and even went through a crazy monkey house. The kids had so much fun! The Zoo really made a special event for all to enjoy. I was pretty freaked out that our little Snow White didn't look like Emma at all. Pretty scary!

Peek A Boo

Believe it or not, McGinnis was down for the count! He was sleeping so soundly one day last week. He looked so cute, I had to snap a picture or two.

PJ Storytime

Well, tonight, Emma and I went to the Hoover Public Library with our friends, Kennamer and Trace. They were having PJ Storytime with a Pumpkin theme. Miss Opal led the children in many active songs that had them jumping and laying down and waiting for her very next word. She even played her cello in the middle of a song! Emma, Kennamer, and Trace all wore matching skeleton pajama pants. You have to get in the spirit of Halloween!!

Baby McGinnis

Meet McGinnis Alan!
Our bouncing baby boy was born on Wednesday, August 13. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 3 ounces, was 20.5 inches long, and made his appearance at 4:33 pm. For all of you out there wondering, McGinnis is my grandfather's middle name and his mother's maiden name. Alan is Greg's middle name.

3 Year Old Preschool

Well, that time of year is here again! Emma started 3 year old preschool today with Mrs. Abbs. It was just like last year -- no looking back. Grammie, Emma and I went yesterday for Open House to meet her teacher, and today Emma took US to her room. She went straight to her teacher to let her know that she had arrived, then she sat at her desk and did not care if we stayed or left. Sigh. It sounds like one of the highlights of her day was playing on the 'big kid' playground. Last year, they could only look through the fence and drool. This year, she's a 'big girl'. When we picked her up, she was happy, but you could tell she was tired. Mrs. Abbs must have kept them busy today!

Baby Shower!

The adorable mini cakes that Jennifer made.

Emma's new baby that Mrs. Lee gave her.

Emma and her friend Kaitlyn

So, today my friends threw a baby shower for us. It was a lot of fun. The girls went all out! There were adorable mini bassinet cakes (see pic), lots of goodies to eat, and lots of fun presents to open. Emma was even honored with some gifts of her own. We now have lots of diapers and wipers to get started, and even some other handy gifts as well. I am overwhelmed with their generosity. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
